Where Quality is More Than Just a Phrase

Kris and Casey, along with their children Gentry and Kade, operate Gudel Cattle Company in Wilton, CA.

Kris is a first-generation beef cattle producer, having been a product of a successful FFA program through Elk Grove High School that led to his first Shorthorn heifer. In 1996, while a student at Fresno State, Kris was able to become a partner on some foundation Angus females and began building his own herd.

Casey, raised on a commercial cattle ranch in Mendocino County in Northern California, was active in 4-H and showed Herefords. After marrying Kris in 2008, the couple began expanding their cattle herd with an emphasis on producing high quality bulls for the commercial cattleman. What started as 10 registered cows has now grown to 100, with an additional 150 commercial cows.

Both Kris and Casey have full time jobs off the ranch, so they expect the same results from their purebred herd as any commercial cattlemen would. The cows need to calve unassisted, stay structurally sound and raise big, productive calves.

Kris owns his own small business, Ranchers' Direct, selling livestock supplement and veterinary supplies, while Casey is in charge of Client Relations and Project Management for an agricultural consulting firm, Land IQ. They strive to raise their children with the same love for the land and livestock they hold.
